BJS Wholesale Club has been named as the most important wholesale club in Australia.

The Australian Wholesaler Group’s top five ranking has been announced today by the association’s Wholesalers Council.BJS Whole Foods is ranked seventh in the wholesale club with an annual turnover of $5.4 billion.

The club has been recognised in the Wholesales Industry Australia’s best wholesale club for the past five years, with an overall score of 85.BJSA chief executive Andrew Jones said the ranking was a testament to the strength of the wholesale market in Australia and a testament that there was a market that would continue to grow with continued support from the Government.

“Wholesale clubs are a key pillar of the Whole Foods market in this country,” Mr Jones said.

“The strength of BJSWholesales is reflected in our membership ranking.

The industry has been a key part of our economic growth for many years, and our members have seen significant value in their purchases and the retail sales that have followed.”

There is a growing demand for the wholesale clubs to continue to provide strong value to the Australian community.

“Mr Jones said wholesale clubs were critical to the sustainability of the Australian Wholefoods industry.”

They are key to the continued growth of the sector and we want to continue the success of the wholesaler model and ensure we continue to offer a level of value to our members,” he said.

Wholesaler group CEO David Smith said the industry had continued to grow in recent years, but it was difficult to gauge the future of the market.”

It’s a tough market to predict because there’s a lot going on and we don’t really have a clear view on the future,” he told The Lad.”

We think the market will continue to be a major force in the food industry in Australia, but I think there’s also a lot of growth potential that’s still to come.

“I think it’s clear that we need a level playing field in the market so that all members have a fair playing field.”

Wholesaler group members include supermarkets, large supermarkets, fast food outlets and other retailers.BJA members include retailers including Aldi, Coles, Loblaw, Tesco, Woolworths, Sainsbury’s, Asda, ASX, Morrisons, Argos and Kmart.BJOSA is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australia Wholesaling Association.
