The sport bible is offering a first glimpse at what it’s like to experience the most iconic sport in the world.

The Sport Bible is a book by a leading sports journalist, author and presenter, who has written more than 100 books, including Sports Illustrated’s ‘The World’s Best Athlete’ and USA Today’s ‘Basketball Athlete of the Year’.

The Sport Book is the culmination of more than a decade of research into sport in Australia and the USA.

“I started the Sport Bible as a way of seeing what’s the best sport in this country and to be able to tell stories from different countries,” Sport Bible editor-in-chief Stephen Ridsdale said.

“It’s about people and their experiences in sports and they’re trying to tell their stories through sports.”

Sports Illustrated sports editor David Epstein said it was a unique opportunity for him to help bring Australia’s most popular sport to a wider audience.

“In this country, a lot of people think about sport in a very limited way,” he said.

Mr Epstein said he wanted to make sure his book was accessible to the mainstream, and not just a niche group.

“We know sport is incredibly diverse,” he told ABC News Breakfast.

“Some people play it on the street, some play it in their backyard and some people don’t even realise it’s sport.”

The Sport Books features articles on Australia’s national sporting events, as well as highlights of local sports.
